The role

As a Motor Transport Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be operating Land Rovers and trailers to support delivery and collection tasks across multiple locations, as well as providing transport for radio exercises conducted by Army students and instructors. Your role will be key in ensuring smooth logistical support for both routine operations and training activities.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Performing Level 1 vehicle maintenance in line with authorised procedures and quality standards
  • Supporting vehicle readiness through cleaning, washing, and refuelling
  • Assisting customers during equipment usage and charge periods
  • Carrying out additional transport-related duties as required to meet operational needs.

This role is full time working 39 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington, near Wareham Dorset.

Essential experience of the Motor Transport Driver:

Military driving experience is highly valued, though full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications for the Motor Transport Driver:

  • Valid Category C and B driving licences
  • Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Strong communication skills with confidence in engaging with customers
  • Competent in completing all driver-related administrative tasks, including timesheets, route planning, driver hours recording, and CPC training logs

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
