As a Mechanical Technician, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining aircraft and critical components, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and ready for operation. Working within our Aviation business, you’ll carry out hands-on maintenance activities that directly support national defence and frontline capability.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and highly regulated environment, where your expertise will contribute to mission success while developing your technical skills in a supportive team.
Day-to-day, you will be:
- Carrying out maintenance, repair, and modification activities on aircraft components
- Diagnosing faults and completing rectification in line with approved technical data
- Updating maintenance records and reporting any issues identified during work
- Supporting compliance activities such as tooling checks and equipment control
- Collaborating with team members and providing guidance to less experienced technicians.
This is a full-time, onsite role based at RAF Valley, working 37.5 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Technician:
- Experience working within an aircraft or component maintenance environment
- Ability to interpret technical information and follow detailed maintenance instructions
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet targets
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, using technical language
- Experience using maintenance systems, databases, and standard IT tools.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Technician:
- Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent), ideally in Aeronautical Engineering
- Relevant hands-on experience within an aircraft maintenance environment.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
