The role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You play a crucial role in delivering complex, safety‑critical engineering that helps to protect people, the environment, and the UK’s long-term energy security. You join a multidisciplinary team working on nationally significant defence nuclear infrastructure, contributing to projects that shape the future of clean energy, decommissioning, operations, and new-build facilities.
This is a full-time position, and you will work from any of our main UK locations including Bristol or Warrington, (Cheshire). Flexible working patterns are available.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Apply engineering knowledge to produce and review technical outputs, including calculations, reports, specifications, and method statements.
- Conduct investigations and analyses to resolve technical challenges and support design improvements.
- Interface with internal teams, customers, and suppliers, ensuring correct application of procedures, codes, and standards.
- Deliver assigned tasks or packages of work, planning effectively and managing risks to meet time, cost, and quality requirements.
- Support and guide less experienced engineers while contributing to continuous improvement across engineering practices.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Engineer:
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Broad engineering experience across a range of project types or tasks.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with various disciplines and stakeholders.
- Post‑qualification industry experience.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer:
- HND qualification as a minimum.
Security Clearance
