The role
As a Licenced Rotary Engineer, you’ll be part of a highly skilled team maintaining a fleet of helicopters that deliver critical air ambulance services across the UK. This is a hands-on role where precision and expertise make a real difference to communities and lives.

• Perform detailed inspections and acceptance checks on incoming aircraft.
• Strip down helicopters for scheduled maintenance, using borescope cameras to inspect engines and critical components.
• Conduct system checks and critical maintenance tasks to ensure airworthiness.
• Lead the full rebuild process, reassembling aircraft to operational standards after major inspections.
• Work closely with other engineers to maintain compliance with aviation safety regulations.

This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Staverton (Gloucestershire Airport).

Essential experience of the Licenced Rotary Engineer:

• Significant experience working with helicopters in a maintenance or engineering capacity.
• Proven background as a base maintenance line engineer.

  • Progress toward a CAA Part-66 Licence, ideally having completed around 10 modules (12 required for full certification).
  • Possession of, or eligibility for, a B1.3 Licence (covering turbine helicopters).
  • Candidates close to licensing will be considered, with training support available for those willing to commit to a 3-year bond with Babcock.
