The Role

As a Lead Cyber Security Operations Centre Analyst, you’ll lead a talented team at the heart of Babcock’s digital defence, driving the protection of critical infrastructure and supporting national security. You’ll coordinate and prioritise threat and vulnerability management, guide remediation efforts, and represent cyber security at the highest levels. Day-to-day, you’ll lead the Cyber Security Operations Centre team to manage and remediate threats and vulnerabilities, coordinate reporting and stakeholder engagement, ensure continuous coverage and maintain all operational documentation and processes.

  • Leading and supervising the CySOC team, assessing and prioritising vulnerabilities and threats, and coordinating remediation efforts across the organisation.
  • Tracking and reporting progress of remediation efforts, ensuring threats and vulnerabilities are addressed within established timelines.
  • Providing management reporting and representing the Head of Cyber Security in security working groups and wider security discussions.
  • Guiding and directing CySOC analysts, ensuring both office hours and out-of-hours coverage.
  • Maintaining documentation, procedures, and processes covering all CySOC functions.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Lead Cyber Security Operations Centre Analyst:

  • Experience using Windows and/or Linux operating systems, with strong IT system administration skills.
  • Experience within a CySOC team, building and maintaining cyber security processes, systems, and tools.
  • Knowledge of patch management for hardware, software and services, including Windows and Linux systems/applications.
  • Some knowledge of MoD specific security systems and processes is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications for the Lead Cyber Security Operations Centre Analyst:

  • Relevant IT or cyber security qualifications are advantageous but not essential, demonstrable experience and leadership in cyber defence are highly valued.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
