The role
As our Head of Physical Security, you’ll lead the strategic direction for physical security across Babcock, ensuring the protection of people, sites, and assets in the UK and overseas. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will safeguard critical infrastructure and national security.
Day-to-day, you’ll influence senior stakeholders, drive risk reduction, and shape security standards that respond to evolving threats making a tangible difference to our business and society.
- Deliver evidence-based Physical Security reviews across the UK estate
- Act as the primary point of contact for physical security issues with key stakeholders
- Promote security as a business enabler, managing influential relationships
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on security posture and risk mitigation
- Lead and inspire Physical Security teams across the organisation
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Head of Physical Security
- In-depth understanding of physical security best practice and UK Government Security Classification standards
- Proven track record in a senior Physical Security role within defence or critical national infrastructure
- Strong leadership experience and ability to deliver complex security projects
- Experience managing international security requirements and associated travel
- Eligible for DV clearance and meets nationality requirements

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS), Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Candidates must be British Nationals.
