As a Facilities Manager, you’ll take ownership of the effective management, maintenance, and operational readiness of Emergency Feeding Facilities across HMNB Devonport and associated locations. Working within a complex and highly regulated defence environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring facilities, assets, and support services are available whenever needed.
Day-to-day, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to combine facilities management, asset management, health and safety, stakeholder engagement, and operational leadership in a role that directly supports critical defence infrastructure. You'll work closely with Ministry of Defence personnel, contractors, service users, and colleagues to deliver outstanding operational performance while driving continuous improvement and service excellence. - Managing Emergency Feeding Facilities and associated assets to ensure operational readiness, compliance, and availability.
- Conducting inspections, audits, and maintenance coordination activities to maintain safe and efficient facilities.
- Coordinating contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring work is delivered safely and in line with statutory requirements.
- Monitoring performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and enhancing customer service delivery.
- Maintaining strong relationships with Ministry of Defence personnel, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to achieve operational objectives.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Facilities Manager
- Proven experience in facilities management, asset management, property management, logistics, or a similar operational environment.
- Experience managing facilities, assets, equipment, or operational support services.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Experience managing contractors and subcontractors.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to deliver excellent customer service and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications for the Facilities Manager
Essential
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English.
- Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3).
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable
- Professional Facilities Management qualification (IWFM, BIFM, or equivalent).
- IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent Health and Safety qualification.
- Experience within defence, maritime, nuclear, or other highly regulated environments.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
