The role
As an Environmental Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our mission to ensure environmental compliance across HMNB Clyde. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact -supporting operational activities and projects with expert environmental guidance that protects our people, our operations, and the planet.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
- Providing expert advice and guidance on environmental compliance to personnel across HMNB Clyde
- Maintaining and developing our Environmental Management System in line with ISO14001:2015
- Investigating environmental incidents and near misses to prevent recurrence
- Educating and raising awareness to prevent environmental risks
- Reviewing and updating environmental documentation to ensure relevance and compliance
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Environmental Advisor
- Strong understanding of environmental awareness and best practicable means
- Familiarity with submarine operations and environments
- Knowledge of statutory, regulatory and standards compliance
- Experience with policy, procedures and process development
- Auditing for compliance
Qualifications for the Environmental Advisor
- Minimum HND in Environmental Studies
- Kelvin TopSet Investigation Course
- MCA Level 1 First Response – Sorbents Course
- Pristine Manual Handling
- ISO14001 EMS Auditor/Lead Auditor
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
