The company is a rapidly expanding, London-based SME delivering mechanical and electrical services for both the public and private sector. We provide a variety of services from one off installations and servicing to capital investment schemes and planed preventative maintenance programs with an emergency call out service 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
The Domestic Gas Engineer is responsible for the installation, service, maintenance, and breakdown of domestic heating systems, as well as project work on new builds, commercial sites etc.
The Domestic Gas Engineer will be tasked with travelling throughout areas of north, east and west London. The Domestic Gas Engineer will be tasked with the maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair of domestic boilers and appliances.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Repairs on boilers and heating systems (1st and 2nd fix)
• Annual gas safety checks.
• To carry out gas works including minor plumbing work
• Small boiler installation and general maintenance of domestic installations.
• Conform to relevant technical standards, manufacturer’s instructions to effectively carry out servicing, breakdown, and fault-finding diagnosis works.
• Provide a professional service and represent the company in a way which ensures customer satisfaction.
• Ensure inspections are recorded and faults reported in strict accordance with company, client and Gas Safe guidelines.
• Complete necessary paperwork to a satisfactory standard.
• Meet customer and contract expectations by carrying out works in a timely manner to a high standard.
• Work in a safe manner, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and GEM’s H&S policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
• The Domestic Gas Engineer MUST hold their ACS domestic gas qualifications, including CCN1, CENWAT and CKR1.
Experience
• Minimum 5 years (NOT INCLUDING TRAINING) + of domestic gas installation, servicing, breakdown, and repair work.
SPECIAL FACTORS
• Be fluent in English.
• Possess a clean UK driving licence – this role is mobile.
• The successful candidate must live within commutable distance of the areas covered.
• Be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check as per GEM`s terms of employment.
• Be flexible in their work approach to working hours. May be asked to work outside of normal working hours as and when required for GEM to meet its commitments to its contracts. This may be the participation in an “out of hours” call out rota.
