The Role

As a Director, Training Futures, you’ll shape the future of training across defence, aerospace and engineering areas that sit at the heart of national security and global stability. This is a strategic leadership position where your insight, direction and decision‑making will directly influence how capability is developed, how growth opportunities are realised, and how complex training solutions evolve to meet tomorrow’s demands.

You’ll work at the forefront of a dynamic, mission‑driven environment, leading initiatives that will elevate operational performance, strengthen our competitive position, and contribute meaningfully to your own career development. Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Drive strategic vision and capability planning, ensuring long-term growth objectives are translated into deliverable outcomes.
  • Define and manage the structured growth pipeline for the Training business, including a focus on international and pan‑domain opportunity development.
  • Collaborate with business winning teams and senior stakeholders to design compelling, insight-led and customer-focused training solutions.
  • Lead disciplined performance management, improving conversion, quality, and sustainability of growth activities across the organisation.
  • Oversee early mobilisation planning to de‑risk delivery and ensure seamless transition into operational teams

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.

Essential experience of the Director, Training Futures (Capability, Strategy and Growth)

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in large, complex organisations.
  • Strong governance understanding and proven ability to operate within matrix environments.
  • Demonstrable track record of driving pipeline development and revenue growth, including securing high‑value deals.
  • Experience leading UK and international growth activity, ideally within Defence.
  • Ability to influence senior defence and central government stakeholders, with an understanding of the Defence competitive landscape.
