As a Director Naval Training, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the next chapter of Babcock’s Naval training portfolio. This is a high‑impact leadership opportunity where you’ll guide how we deliver essential training programmes that help protect national security and support the Royal Navy’s operational excellence.
You’ll provide full P&L oversight across a diverse and evolving portfolio, ensuring the safe, effective and efficient delivery of our commitments. This is a role where your decisions directly influence the capability of the UK’s defence ecosystem. It’s also an exceptional platform for personal and career growth, giving you exposure to strategic leadership, senior customer engagement and high‑profile projects across the defence, aerospace and engineering sectors.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Leading and embedding Naval training contracts into the wider business, enabling collaboration and joined‑up delivery.
- Creating and executing strategies to expand and enhance our training portfolio, including Naval Nuclear, Mission Systems and special projects.
- Working closely with contract leads, future business teams and Group colleagues to identify and sponsor new growth opportunities.
- Engaging with senior customers, partners and internal leaders to maintain strong relationships and high-quality delivery.
- Driving operational, financial and safety performance across the portfolio.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Director Naval Training
- Established leadership background with proven P&L accountability.
- Experience engaging with a broad and diverse customer base.
- Sector experience across Marine, Mission Systems and/or Nuclear environments.
- Strong track record in developing and executing business strategy.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
