The role
As a Contract Manager, you’ll take on a strategic and operational leadership role that directly supports the UK’s defence capability. You’ll be responsible for managing customer relationships, planning, and delivery of cadet weapon support services across HQ Home Command and associated formations.

This is a high impact role where your leadership will ensure Babcock delivers a high performing, compliant, and customer aligned service across the Cadet Light Weapon Contract. You’ll safeguard key performance indicators (KPIs), drive operational readiness, and strengthen Babcock’s reputation as a trusted defence partner while growing your own career in a dynamic and meaningful environment.

Day-to-day you’ll be:
• Leading and supporting a Planner and a Data Analyst, including recruitment, performance management, and wellbeing.
• Submitting performance data to the central reporting team each month and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
• Building strong working relationships with military units and training organisations across the country.
• Collaborating with technical support teams to understand current capacity and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Attending planning meetings and contributing to service enhancements and future contract development.

The role is based onsite at Aldershot, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week. You will work three days a week from the office and two days from home, with travel across the UK required as needed to support units at various locations.

Essential experience of the Contract Manager – Military:
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, including performance and welfare oversight.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Experience in planning and coordinating service delivery within a defence or military environment.
• Skilled in analysing operational data and translating requirements into actionable plans.
• Familiarity with compliance standards, including health, safety, and quality assurance frameworks.

Qualifications for the Contract Manager – Military:
• Educated to Level 4 in the National Qualification Framework (NQF) or equivalent workplace experience.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
