The role
As a Commercial Administrator you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As a Commercial Administrator, you’ll support the full commercial lifecycle of major rail frameworks — from contract award to close‑out — helping us deliver on time, on budget and to the highest standards.
Day to day you'll be required to:
- Prepare variations, adjustment events and applications for payment, ensuring documentation is accurate and on time.
- Maintain robust commercial records and correspondence that protect our position throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Support cost control, cash collection, change control and subcontract administration activities.
- Attend project and client meetings, helping to produce cost reports, risk and opportunity updates and progress summaries.
- Build positive relationships with customers and internal teams, contributing to collaborative solutions across the Alliance.
This role is full‑time at 35 hours per week, based at Cadder Yard near Glasgow, Scotland. Hybrid working patterns are available with a minimum of three days on site.
Essential experience of the Commercial Administrator:
- Effective communicator with the confidence to engage colleagues, suppliers and customers.
- Strong attention to detail and numeracy, with the ability to manage documentation accurately.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems (SAP experience desirable).
- Organised and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Qualifications for the Commercial Administrator:
