The role
As a Change Control Manager, you’ll lead the development, implementation and management of robust change control processes across complex, high profile projects within our Naval Nuclear business. This is a critical role that ensures strategic alignment, project integrity and informed decision making - making a real difference to national security and the future of defence engineering.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for managing a team of change management professionals and operating within a matrix management environment.
- Leading the creation and application of change control frameworks and procedures across projects and programmes.
- Managing and mentoring a small team of project controls professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities.
- Interfacing with Planning, Cost Control and Commercial teams to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to clarify change impacts and secure alignment.
- Influencing Delivery teams to ensure consistent application of change control processes.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Change Control Manager
- Proven experience in project controls or project management, with a focus on change control or commercial management.
- Ability to manage complex change processes across large-scale projects or programmes.
- Skilled in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel).
- Familiarity with project controls systems (e.g., Primavera, CEMAR, SAP).
- Experience managing or mentoring team members within matrixed organisations.
Qualifications for the Change Control Manager
- Professional qualification in project management or controls (e.g., APM, PMI, or equivalent).
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
