The role
As a Capture Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of driving strategic growth across our defence, aerospace and engineering sectors. This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape and lead the capture of major opportunities, helping position Babcock to win and deliver on our mission to protect communities and advance national security.


You’ll work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to develop winning strategies, build strong partnerships, and create compelling value propositions. This is a dynamic opportunity to influence the future of our business while accelerating your own career development.

Day-to-day you’ll be:
• Leading the capture of strategic growth programmes from qualification through to bid and negotiation phases.
• Translating customer and market intelligence into executable win strategies.
• Developing and managing partnering strategies and teaming arrangements.
• Collaborating with commercial and finance teams to shape competitive delivery models.
• Assessing opportunities using data-driven insights to ensure strategic fit and maximise win potential.

The role is based onsite at one of our main UK locations, and the set working times are 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working patterns are available.

Essential experience of the Capture Lead:
• Proven experience managing high-value pursuits, ideally within the Defence sector.
• Strong understanding of the full capture lifecycle and its practical application.
• Skilled in developing compelling value propositions that resonate with customers.
• Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with partner organisations.
• Deep knowledge of the Defence landscape and market dynamics.

Qualifications for the Capture Lead:
• Educated to degree level, ideally in business, marketing or a related field.
• Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
