As an Assistant Project Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a key role in supporting the capture, analysis and implementation of Learning from Experience across the Submarine Disposal Programme. Sitting at the centre of programme delivery and continuous improvement, this role offers wide exposure across engineering, project management and senior stakeholders.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Support the delivery of a professional approach to Learning from Experience management and associated processes
- Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders across all levels to analyse data and identify improvement opportunities
- Lead and support Learning from Experience investigations within a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment
- Produce high‑quality, timely and insightful reports that inform programme and business decisions
- Maintain databases, registers and trackers to ensure accurate, accessible organisational learning
This is a full‑time, permanent role, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Devonport. Hybrid working patterns are available, and occasional travel to other Babcock and customer sites may be required.
Essential experience of the Assistant Project Controller:
- Experience producing clear, well‑structured written outputs and reports
- Confidence engaging and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to challenge constructively and respond positively to challenge
- Experience working in a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary environment
- Interest in continuous improvement and learning cultures
Qualifications for the Assistant Project Controller:
- Degree or equivalent professional experience (essential)
- Project management qualification such as APM Project Fundamentals Qualification or PRINCE2 (desirable)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
