The role

As an Assistant Buyer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our supply chain operations, ensuring critical projects in defence, aerospace, and engineering have the resources they need to succeed.

Day-to-day, you’ll manage purchase orders and supplier communications.

  • Support sourcing activities and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain accurate records and compliance with procurement policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet project requirements.

This role is full time role with 37 hours per week based in Rosyth, Fife. Hybrid working patterns are available with 2-3 days in the office.

Essential experience of the Assistant Buyer:

  • Previous experience in procurement or supply chain.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Qualifications for the Assistant Buyer:

  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths (essential).
  • CIPS Level 3 or working towards (preferred).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
