The role

As an Aircraft Inspector, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be supporting vital flying operations through aircraft ground movement, flight-line preparation, and hands-on maintenance of our LAFT fleet.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise and perform flight-line operations in line with company procedures.
  • Complete all maintenance documentation accurately and in compliance with legislation and company standards.
  • Provide technical support to other LAFT sites and be available for longer-term detachments during Easter and Summer camps.
  • Carry out pre-use checks and scheduled maintenance on company-owned Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

This role is full time working 40 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Benson, Oxfordshire.

Essential experience of the Aircraft Inspector:

  • Experience handling aircraft in military or civilian environments under CAA or EASA Part 145 regulations.
  • Mentoring and supporting new starters, fostering skill development and confidence.
  • Proficient in IT systems for accurate documentation and timely updates.
  • Proven supervisory experience within an aircraft engineering environment.

Qualifications for the Aircraft Inspector:

  • Recognised aircraft apprenticeship, military experience, or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Ability to demonstrate both practical and theoretical standards required for the role.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Hands-on aircraft engineering experience.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
