The role
As an Aircraft Inspector, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be playing a key part in delivering high-standard aircraft inspections and maintenance, from scheduled servicing to Check A tasks, ensuring operational excellence and exceeding both customer and contractual expectations.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Conduct scheduled and corrective maintenance on the LAFT aircraft fleet, including aircraft handling
- Supervise and certify technician staff in line with regulatory standards
- Perform pre-use checks and scheduled maintenance on ground support equipment, ensuring full documentation compliance
- Carry out general duties as assigned, including driving, stores support, and housekeeping
- Accurately complete all maintenance documentation in accordance with legislation and company procedures.
This role is full time working 40 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Aldergrove, Northern Ireland.
Essential experience of the Aircraft Inspector:
- Prepare aircraft for daily operations, including “see-in”, “see-off”, and fuel/oil replenishment
- Experience in military or civilian Part 145 maintenance environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer-facing skills
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- IT proficiency desirable.
Qualifications for the Aircraft Inspector:
- Recognised Aircraft Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated practical and theoretical engineering competence
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Experience in military or civilian aircraft engineering environments.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
