You’ll partner with cost centre owners, track budgets, forecast spend and deliver accurate month-end results. This is an opportunity to make a real impact - your insights will help shape decisions that support national security and critical infrastructure. You’ll gain exposure to complex financial processes and develop your career in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.Day-to-day, you’ll be:<ul><li>Managing intercompany recharge codes and processes, ensuring timely invoicing and coding.</li><li>Supporting quarterly rates calculations and monitoring recovery positions.</li><li>Delivering month-end results, posting accruals and prepayments, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports.</li><li>Assisting with annual budgets, cost analysis, and year-end audit processes.</li><li>Building strong relationships across Mission Systems and the wider finance community.</li></ul>This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.Essential experience of the Accountant<ul><li>Strong communication skills to influence and collaborate effectively.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Skilled in presenting financial information clearly to finance and non-finance audiences.</li><li>Excellent time management and stakeholder engagement skills.</li><li>Proficiency in Excel and a critical thinking approach to problem-solving.</li></ul>Qualifications for the Accountant<ul><li>Ideally working towards or holding a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW) or equivalent.</li><li>Candidates with AAT Level 2/3/4 or those starting chartered qualifications will be considered.</li></ul>Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
