The Role

As a Senior Head of Procurement and Supply Chain, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Global Director of Procurement & Supply Chain for Babcock, and operationally to the Operations Director for Mission Systems, you will be a core member of both the P&SC Function and the Mission Systems business

Day-to-day, you’ll be ensuring that P&SC resources are directed and focused on the delivery of Customer Programmes and Opportunities, while demonstrating collaboration and support for P&SC Functional transformation activities in your area of responsibility.

  • Aligning to the key Business Priorities for Mission System, ensure appropriate focus, priority and resource are applied to operational and programme delivery across the Sector.
  • Timely reporting & communication of Sector / Functional Performance & Results, both for Internal and external purposes, leveraging the tools, systems and processes that are established to manage KPI and Approved Benefits.
  • Defining, managing and optimising the P&SC functional budget for Mission Systems; in both Labour and non-Labour categories; balancing demands from the Sector with delivering ROI for the Function and Babcock.
  • Ensure that P&SC Resources; in terms of skills, talent and availability are aligned with Sector, BU and Programme requirements.
  • Support Sector and Functional Talent Management activities; ensuring that staff Retention and development is evident and that the Functional Organisations aligned to Babcock's Role Framework.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and requires regular travel to Bristol on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Essential Experience of the Senior Head of Procurement and Supply Chain:

  • Significant experience of working in a large corporate environment.
  • C-suite stakeholder management both internally and externally.
  • Experience in a successful fast moving and highly critical services business sector.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading supplier performance improvement strategy & SRM.
  • Experience with complex and sizable / scale projects.

Qualifications for the Senior Head of Procurement and Supply Chain:

  • Ideally, hold CIPS accreditation or equivalent.
  • Six Sigma or equivalent CI qualification is desirable.
