The Role
As a Senior Engineering Manager – Technical Compliance, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining technical integrity across Babcock’s global engineering operations. You’ll lead governance and assurance activities, ensuring our engineering processes meet the highest standards across a diverse portfolio of defence, aerospace, and engineering projects.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role that offers the opportunity to influence technical risk management and drive continuous improvement across multiple sectors and geographies. This full-time, permanent role is based at any of our offices in the UK, Canada or Australia, with flexible working patterns available. Travel to other Babcock and customer sites may be required.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
- Planning and scheduling Global Engineering and Technical Governance and Assurance (TG&A) activities
- Managing assurance of the Independent Technical Authority (ITA) Framework and Global Engineering Framework (GEF)
- Alerting Engineering Integrity team members to changes in TG&A activity scheduling
- Leading the development, scheduling, and record-keeping of TG&A training programmes
Essential experience of the Senior Engineering Manager – Technical Compliance:
- Extensive background in engineering management of technical activities
- Strong understanding of engineering’s role across business functions and sectors
- Proven experience managing engineering programmes
- Knowledge of multiple lifecycle types, including product development and repair/overhaul
Qualifications
Chartered or Professional Engineer status with a recognised professional body, or ability to obtain within 12 months of joining
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) /security clearance for this role.
