The role
As a Security Vetting Team Leader, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the forefront of safeguarding our people and operations. You’ll lead a dedicated team responsible for managing security clearance processes for employees and contractors, ensuring compliance with national legislation and internal standards.
Day-to-day, you’ll be leading and supporting the site’s vetting team, providing subject matter expertise and line management.
- Monitoring the delivery of screening and vetting services to ensure compliance with policies and SLAs
- Engaging with stakeholders to promote security awareness, explain clearance processes, raise security awareness and promote security as an enabler
- Acting as the escalation point for complex vetting queries
- Flagging current or projected resourcing and staff training requirements to Head of Security Clearance and Vetting.
- Overseeing the full lifecycle of security clearance to meet regulatory requirements
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Security Vetting Team Leader:
- Proven line management experience, ideally in team leadership
- Strong understanding of HMG security clearance policies and processes (NSV, BPSS, IPSA)
- Solid grasp of data protection legislation
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise for self and others
- Comfortable working independently and making decisions

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
