The role

As a Performance Improvement Analyst, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join the Submarine Support Enterprise (SSE), a core delivery function within Babcock’s Naval Nuclear business. In this role, you’ll help drive strategic outcomes that ensure the operational success and future capability of the UK’s submarine fleet—contributing to national security through engineering excellence and collaborative delivery.

Day-to-day, you’ll apply advanced analytics to diagnose root causes and design targeted solutions that enhance performance across the submarine enterprise.

  • Manage and monitor enterprise initiatives, ensuring accurate performance tracking and benefit delivery
  • Analyse performance data to uncover trends and identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • Conduct root cause analysis using best-practice methodologies and recommend targeted solutions
  • Oversee initiative portfolios, including resource planning, progress updates, and benefit realisation
  • Champion change management to embed sustainable improvements across the submarine support enterprise

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and requires regular travel to Bristol on a weekly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Performance Improvement Analyst

  • Demonstrated expertise in data analytics, delivering insights in complex operational settings
  • Experience driving continuous improvement through project delivery in performance-led teams
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for strategic decision-making
  • Proven problem-solver, skilled in root cause analysis and implementing enterprise-wide solutions

Qualifications for the Performance Improvement Analyst

  • A-levels in Mathematics or Business Studies, and/or proven expertise in Lean Six Sigma (minimum Green Belt) or equivalent hands-on experience in process improvement.
