The role
As a Head of Delivery, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Lead a high-performing team to deliver one of the UK’s most ambitious shipbuilding programmes. You’ll provide visible leadership, offering clear guidance and direction to ensure successful delivery of agreed targets and milestones.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead and oversee all aspects within the scope of Ship Managers, Commissioning Managers, Quality Control Managers, and Completions Managers. Additionally, you will:
- Deliver the full ship outfitting scope on the Type 31 Programme on time, on budget, safely, and to the highest quality
- Lead composite working teams across all areas of outfit delivery
- Build and inspire an empowered, motivated, and capable team that consistently performs at a high level
- Drive improvements in safety and quality culture, making Type 31 the benchmark for excellence in shipbuilding
- Embed continuous improvement across the delivery stream to ensure all milestone targets are achieved
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth.
Essential experience of the Head of Delivery
- Proven experience in project or programme delivery at a senior management level
- Strong leadership and change management across multidisciplinary environments
- Demonstrated success in shipbuilding programmes with a focus on operations or production management
- Deep understanding of project management processes, tools, and techniques across complex projects
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels within a large, complex programme
Qualifications for the Head of Delivery
- Relevant degree (or equivalent experience)
- Technical trade or engineering based background
- Membership of a recognised professional institution
