The role
As a Client Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Supporting and enhancing the technology that powers our operations. This is a dynamic opportunity to work on a large-scale Windows Client estate, contributing to national defence and engineering excellence.
Day-to-day, you’ll be delivering technical support and analysis across key client technologies.
- Managing and supporting device management software (Ivanti)
- Administering privilege management tools (BeyondTrust)
- Creating and maintaining Group Policies and Powershell scripts
- Producing clear operational and technical documentation
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with one day in the office/onsite and four days working from home.
Essential experience of the Client Engineer:
- Experience in supporting large estates in both BAU and project environments
- Working in 2nd line senior or 3rd line support roles
- Applying deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including troubleshooting and documentation
- Understanding future client technologies like VDI, WaaS, Azure, and Intune
- Using Powershell, Active Directory, Group Policies, and MS MCEM
Qualifications for the Client Engineer:
- Microsoft Certified
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
