The role
As a Buyer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a key part within the Procurement and Supply Chain team focused on a variety of direct and indirect activities.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Process requisitions and place purchase orders/contracts efficiently and timely to meet service levels.
- Carry out sourcing and supplier allocation activities in support of business objectives.
- Manage supplier order books to ensure goods/services arrive on time and meet specifications.
- Assist in supplier performance and relationship management to sustain and improve outcomes.
- Coordinate with wider programme teams to ensure project requirements are met to planned time, cost, and specification.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Buyer
- Knowledge of commercial business practices and strong communication skills.
- Proven experience within a procurement or buying role, preferably in defence, manufacturing or engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with procurement systems such as ERP/MRP technologies.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders in an operational environment.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain UK - BPSS + Non Police Personnel Vetting 1 security clearance for this role.
