The Role

As a Business Operations Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to deliver world-class support to submarine delivery programmes. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of defence operations by driving efficiency, enhancing governance, and developing talent across our Business Support and Disposals teams.

Day-to-day, you’ll lead the Business Operations and Disposals Teams in delivering business support activities, ensuring greater efficiency and effectiveness in execution. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading business support activities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinating data governance and managing dashboards for high-quality reporting.
  • Supporting programme directors in business planning and benefits management.
  • Maintaining resource data to support integrated business planning.
  • Refining governance processes including business continuity planning.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Business Operations Lead

  • Extensive experience in business or project management environments.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Proven leadership with strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Advanced IT proficiency and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across all levels.

Qualifications for the Business Operations Lead

  • Degree-level qualification in STEM or business-related fields.
  • APM Project Management Fundamentals (preferred but not essential).

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
