The role

As a Business Improvement Specialist – Data and Systems, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the forefront of operational excellence, using data to unlock smarter ways of working across our Clyde site. This is a dynamic opportunity to lead impactful change, develop cutting-edge dashboards, and influence strategic decisions that support national defence and engineering innovation.

Day-to-day, you’ll be:

  • Designing and managing advanced dashboards using Power BI, integrating data from multiple sources to support performance tracking and decision-making
  • Delivering improvement projects from concept to transition using Lean and Agile methodologies
  • Facilitating workshops and coaching teams in improvement tools and techniques
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders across operations, projects, and leadership, and engaging with external partners
  • Maintaining process documentation and ensuring compliance with governance frameworks

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday 07:15 – 16:45 and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Business Improvement Specialist – Data and Systems

  • Proven expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data integration from sources like SQL, Excel, and ERP systems
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Agile, and other improvement frameworks
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems and IT business analysis
  • Experience managing projects and influencing stakeholders across departments

Qualifications for the Business Improvement Specialist – Data and Systems

  • HNC in a relevant Engineering or Business IT discipline (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of improvement experience in a relevant field
  • APM Project Fundamentals or similar project/change management certification (desirable but not essential)
