The role

As a Bid Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Bid Manager role involves coordinating and managing cross-functional teams to develop winning bids/ proposals that meet client requirements of Compliance, Cost and Credibility.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • The Bid Manager role involves coordinating and managing cross-functional teams to develop winning bids/ proposals that meet client requirements of Compliance, Cost and Credibility.
  • The Bid Manager will develop Bid Management Book Plans (response and author allocations) and Bid Management Plans (Schedules and Resource Estimates) to develop and manage authors and stakeholders Kick-Off meetings, Stand-Up meetings, and weekly bid management reports.
  • The role also requires the use of Microsoft Dynamics for pipeline reporting and the extensive use Microsoft SharePoint for bid management document control.
  • The Bid Manager role will support the development and delivery of the Shipley aligned Babcock Proposal Management Business Growth Lifecycle activities including Black Hat reviews (Competitor, Market, Customer Analysis), Blue Team reviews (Strategy analysis), Pink Team reviews (Storyboarding), Red Team reviews (Draft reviews), Green Team reviews (Finance / Commercial review), Gold Team reviews (pre-submission approvals) and White Team reviews (Learning from Experience) activities.

This role is full time and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3-5 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Bid Manager:

  • Experience in business growth activities with demonstrable success on major programmes in defence related roles.
  • Business growth professional with experience in leading the application of recognised Business Growth methodologies such as Shipley and Associates on major bids.
  • Demonstrable experience is building relationships and leading pan-business cross functional teams.
  • Able to manage/lead internal meetings at senior level with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications for the Bid Manager:

  • Degree Qualified

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) Security Check and (SC) security clearance for this role.
