The Role
As an Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Mission Systems business. You’ll partner with cost centre owners, track budgets, forecast spend and deliver accurate month-end results. This is an opportunity to make a real impact - your insights will help shape decisions that support national security and critical infrastructure. You’ll gain exposure to complex financial processes and develop your career in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Managing intercompany recharge codes and processes, ensuring timely invoicing and coding.
- Supporting quarterly rates calculations and monitoring recovery positions.
- Delivering month-end results, posting accruals and prepayments, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports.
- Assisting with annual budgets, cost analysis, and year-end audit processes.
- Building strong relationships across Mission Systems and the wider finance community.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Accountant
- Strong communication skills to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in presenting financial information clearly to finance and non-finance audiences.
- Excellent time management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and a critical thinking approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications for the Accountant
- Ideally working towards or holding a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW) or equivalent.
- Candidates with AAT Level 2/3/4 or those starting chartered qualifications will be considered.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
